Minor website irritations No 3042
People who don't set up their DNS records and web server so that both www.example.com and example.com work. Take the UK retailer Argos. They have a website at, as you might expect, http://www.argos.co.uk/. However, at http://argos.co.uk/ there is nothing. Well, to be exact there isn't an argos.co.uk. There is no DNS record for argos.co.uk. It's not a hard thing to do. Heck, adding something like:
argos.co.uk. A 129.35.77.19
into their zone file would probably fix it.
And yes, it's laziness on my part to not type the www but I'm not alone in this and it's far more cumulative time for me and people like me than for the DNS admins for argos.
